This is an outrage:
More Amazon Chicanery
Over at Amazon, my book’s page no longer displays its rank in “politics,” but in “parodies.” I’m sure it’s just an honest mistake. If you check the “politics” list, I’m still #2.
I’ve always said you were #2, Jonah. But how anyone could think a book about a serious subject like Liberal Fascism was a parody is completely beyond me. Books with very serious and thoughtful titles (and covers) such as Jonah’s book are most assuredly not parodies, nor spoofs, mad-cap romps, bodice-rippers, ripping yarns, or whatever other sorts of tomfoolery kids these days are half-assedly slapping between two covers and calling ‘a book’. Believe me – when you are poring over a magisterial work such as ‘Liberal Fascism’, your lips will be fixed in a most frowny pose of seriousness and thought, and if – and I do stress, if – if they were to curl into some sort of so-called ‘grin’, it would merely be the sort of grin which said “never in my wildest dreams of thoughtful and serious scholarship could I ever have imagined that this argument – which has been made many times before – could be made with such detail, and with such care! O! Happy land that has such learnĂ«d men to teach it!” Parody? My doughy white ass.

…and when they came for the Popular Mechanics subscribers, there was nobody to speak up for me.

…and then when they came for the thread-killers, none of the other commenters would speak up for me.

Re: Parsing the Institute
A thought just occurred: is Jonah the Pony in “Freedom, Democracy and a Pony”?
Or is he just the thing you find in a steaming pile in the barn that leads you to optimistically conclude that the Pony must be around there somewhere?

Currently at #2 on the parodies list?
“The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead”
Somehow that’s incredibly appropriate.

It’s so confusing. On Amazon’s political page, right now, 5am PST 2-7-08, Colbert’s “I Am America (and You Can Too) is # 4. He’s not a parodist, is he?
# 3 is some whackoff by Gingrich.
