WHOOPS, GOT SOME HOBBITS MIXED WITH YER FAIERIES. I will admit to getting the better of this exchange. Sir John of Dingleberry wants his ’stache back, munchwagon.
I’d like to suggest Chris Elliot for the inevitable Tull biopic, if he can be hopped up on enough zoobies.
Wow, and iTunes just recently added Tull to its lineup of “easy to waste money on oldies.” So I fell right into it and put “Thick as a Brick” onto my nano. Took me right back to 1972, it did.
The Mighty Tull might have made madrigals palatable to the U.S. masses, but the Strawberry Hill Boys (abbreviated to The Strawbs) were realer than real deal Holyfield (and it’s got WAKEMAN!)
Really? I figured “back in the year one … son” was a giveaway, to say nothing of “Passion Play”. Now you’re going to make me ponder Jethro Tull lyrics again. Ah, to be young!
I really do mind if you sit this one out. Although I prefer Hawkins on Ghosts to the pre Yes Wakemen. Pardon me, but my love’s in the sink, and I must get her out.
You slubberdegullions should know that any tribute to Englishness and English wordplay MUST include Vivian Stanshall, the last great English eccentric (and sorely missed):
And though “slubberdegullion” was already in my vocabulary (thank you Peter Gabriel) I found this translation of a Rabelais paragraph most instructive, as no doubt will you ninny-hammer flycatchers and jobbernol goosecaps:

“Skating away” is one of my Favorite songs EVAR. It’s actually Buddhist, I thought. And a pretty elaborate metaphor to boot.

The Strawbs are nice. As for JT, I like “Farm on the Freeway.”
Martin Barre = Beast.
