Well I didn’t think there were any WMDs, why? Because the evidence was flimsy, we HAD saddam in a bag, and the old ones we sold him would deteriorate over time. New ones would leave residues and other signatures which were not found. And I think HIV is an original zoonosis from Africa, as many completely non-American investigators have more or less conclusively shown.

Another huge Wright fan here. Not sure why, except perhaps I detest the kind of smears that the two YouTube videos represent. 30 years of struggle reduced to a couple of minutes of out-of-context character assassination.

I have read, seen and heard many of his sermons, and I can’t find it in my heart to condemn him either as a bully or as an America hater. He and his church have done a great deal of good for a very long time in his community. He has also served two tours in the Navy and Marines during the Viet Nam war.

Like all Americans, he has the right to criticize this government, its’ wrong-headed policies and most especially, its’ sociopathic leaders.

This is probably going to sink Obama, even if he chooses to throw the Reverend completely under the bus. I think it’s too late for that now. I haven’t seen any reaction from Hillary on this, except that she criticized McCain for piling on. If that’s true, good for her.

I guess America is just not ready for a black President, even one as obviously capable of doing the job as Obama. I find this very depressing. It’s as if, by having a Black man as candidate for POTUS, we’ve turned the clock back forty years.

The fuck you approach is my personal favorite, as well. And if it wasn’t Wright, it’d be something else. A bully doesn’t bully to improve you through valid criticism of your many imperfections. A bully bullies because that’s what bullies do. And the only thing a bully understands is a good hard punch to his smug fucking face.

(I’m totally gonna be the mom in the principal’s office going, “Yeah? Maybe your kid IS a douchebag, you ever consider that?”)
