Shorter John McCain:
Slow Down!!! Grandpa needs a timeout young fellar (leans over, with hands clutching arthritic knees, panting and sweating like prom night in a sauna)
Kevin Drum is shrillesque:
Spare me. Let me guess: the debate should be postponed until October 2, which, sadly, will mean eliminating the vice presidential debate entirely. What a bummer, eh? And the guy whose campaign is funded by federal funds thinks all fundraising should be suspended. Imagine that. And the senator who hasn’t showed up for a roll call vote since April suddenly thinks Capitol Hill is the place everyone needs to be. That should speed things up, shouldn’t it?
Fuck that. Obama should point out that sometimes presidents have to deal with multiple challenges at the same time, and that Obama feels he’s up to the task. Tell Mumm-ra to give his walker a tune-up and chug a Red Bull.

If I lose my job from laughing so hard, it’ll be your fault, damn it!

Done. And Harry Reid called McCain up personally and told him to stay away.
You know, sometimes these guys actually seem to know what they’re doing.

Ah, well, call me cynical, but I think McCain’s stunt has more to do with his lack of debate preparation (see CNN story).

No, I vote for stroke.

Obama should point out that sometimes presidents have to deal with multiple challenges at the same time, and that Obama feels he’s up to the task.
And as if on cue…
“I believe that we should continue to have the debate,” Obama said. “It’s my belief that this is exact time when the American people need to hear form the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsibly for dealing with this mess and I think that it is going to be part of the President’s job to deal with more than one thing at once.”

Debate preping with Michael Steele will do that to a man. On with the show.

Barack reads this blog?
No, Barack knows what the hell he’s doing, and if something occurs to you or me, it’s a fair bet that it’s also occured to him.

“And the senator who hasn’t showed up for a roll call vote since April suddenly thinks Capitol Hill is the place everyone needs to be.”
Actually, I believe his last vote was on March 13….just sayin’

Yes, Barack reads this blog, so go tell all your friends that if they want to be cool they need to read this blog and mostly my blog because Barack just can’t get enough.

Ah, but Preznits only have to answer one 3 AM telephone call at a time, so this presidents-must-be-able-to-multi-task meme is just bullshit.
Look, if President Bush can be the Greatest President Of The 21st Century (GP21C? sounds like a strain of Avian Flu …) or maybe even Greatest Preznit Evah (WCDF), without being able to handle one task at a time, then it is obvious that multitasking is highly overrated.
And anyone says otherwise is, in effect, disrespecting John McCain’s POWitude.

Re: multitasking, I almost forgot:
The Clenis was able to multitask, and look what happened: dishonor in the White House. But something even worse: the creation of 22,000,000 jobs proved to be such a strain on Teh Economee, that the seeds for the current Worst Financial Crisis Evah (WFCE? WTF is it with me and the abbreviations?) were actually sown in the mid-1990s. So, the obvious conclusion is that, once again, It’s All Bill Clinton’s Fault.
The sooner you f’ing Lieberals get that through your thick skulls, the better off you’ll be.

Shit. I heard that Chris Hitchens had been subjecting himself to debates with an famous black man all week, so he could properly analyze the results of the upcoming debate. His bartender in residence has indicated that Hitch now realizes that “it’s torture to be made Mr. T’s bitch.” Unless Chitchens can officially recognize by personal experience that some black persons are smarter and more articulate than Larry the Cable Guy, Slate and Salon will have to withhold judgement.

Yes. And McCain has his aides drive on to the intertubes so they can read it to him too.
