1) It’s “cri de coeur.” I hate to nitpick but I happen to speak the language of cheese-eating surrender-monkey. Blame my socialist upbringing, or something.

2) The nutjobs who insist on sex only happening for purposes of procreation need to help me solve the equation A – B, where A is the number of times intercourse has taken place, and B is the number of children you have.

If A – B > 0, you are a FILTHY FORNICATOR who doesn’t deserve marriage, children, or real happiness.

One wonders, tangentially, if comparing the cruelties of various armies differs significantly from comparing the sweetnesses of assorted jellybeans.

One also wonders if an army of identical personalities would be able to find its way out of a barracks, let alone perpetuate cruelties.

(one is confident, too, that refraining from criticizing the use of “crueller,” which is of course entirely comprehensible, despite its awkwardness compared to the preferred “more cruel,” reflects well on one’s reasonableness in matters grammatical)

“After Life” is a brilliant Japanese movie with no cartoons in it. If you’re talking about the theological or Christian notion of the continuation of consciousness after death, however, you want to use the single word, “afterlife.” (If you want to convey skepticism, I strongly encourage the use of the neologism, “afterdeath.”)

You’ll want to pick either “there, too” or “thereto,” rather than munging them together like that, particularly when you’re following up with clauses that contain words like “deleterious.”

…the urge to don multiple wet suits…

I’m not saying that perverts of any political orientation don’t feel that urge, but if we’re discussing recent history, then it was an urge to don wetsuits, not an urge to don wet suits, that resulted in the enormously entertaining news reports.

So Prager thinks that sexual orientation is a “choice”? Perhaps for some it is, and some it isn’t, and I don’t see how one can really answer this for anyone other than yourself.

In fact, as someone who has always felt that my orientation was as much of a “choice” as my eye color, I find it a bit odd when people claim that they had a choice in the matter. But if you say you had a choice, okay, no argument.

Prager seems to think there was a choice, so I guess he’s one of the naturally mmm, what’s a good word for it…ambivalent? It’s only his iron will that keeps him in a hetero box, and who knows? perhaps Prager keeps two wetsuits in the car trunk just in case he wakes up gay tomorrow.
