Your modern Republican Party:
ABC News’ Steven Portnoy reports: In a conservative radio interview that aired in Washington, D.C. Friday morning, Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin said she fears her First Amendment rights may be threatened by “attacks” from reporters who suggest she is engaging in a negative campaign against Barack Obama.
Palin told WMAL-AM that her criticism of Obama’s associations, like those with 1960s radical Bill Ayers and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, should not be considered negative attacks. Rather, for reporters or columnists to suggest that it is going negative may constitute an attack that threatens a candidate’s free speech rights under the Constitution, Palin said.
“If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations,” Palin told host Chris Plante, “then I don’t know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media.“
Yeah, really! Why can’t the press cover Sarah Palin like this:
The Constitution is a document designed to protect the rights of powerful Republican politicians from the tyranny of a free Press. Also, we need laws to defend Republicans from political hate speech. And this is the future of the Republican party. Thanks, libertarians!

Well! “I for one” am in “total agreement” with Sarah on this one. The “First Amendment” was not written in order to protect the “hate speech” of these so-called “journalists” whose crying fire in a crowded theater threatens “yours and my” freedom of speech! If to call a terrorist a terrorist is crying “fire,” then Future-President Palin is exactly the hose this nation needs! Also, too, Hussein! And that’s just my opinion!

I suppose I knew this already, but I still find myself surprised that Sarah Palin is even dumber than the dumb-fuckiest wingnut trolls who scream “First Amendment” every time someone disagrees with them or tells them to get lost.

I would like to seen President Palin explaining to the boardfeet, mineral extraction, and livestock interest groups that we are going to do it like Alaska from now on: the people own the resources, and you are going to pay big bucks for what you’ve been getting essentially free for near two hundred years now so we can cut checks to the workers. The looks on their faces would be priceless.
Also funny would be explaining this plan to Republican public-land grazing ranchers in California/Montana/Idaho/Wyoming. Country first, right mate?

Meanwhile, see #s 11, 13, and especially 14 at my name’s link for some issues that BHO and his supporters have with the First Amendment.

So far I’ve been able to avoid hearing the song, but the lyrics seem R-rated to me:
“Her qualifications are plain to see /
So let’s go and pull the lever”
Starbursts, by friends, starbursts.

Great straw man there!
What she’s really saying is a Free Press is a threat to the First Amendment!

Is it possible that McCain sicced Palin on the Republican Party just to fuck them? Imagine her the titular leader of the Party in the coming years, shrinking it down to the dead-enders-for -Bush 22%.

I’m betting that when Palin appears, the song that actually comes to the middle-aged Republican male mind is more likely “Slow Ride.” I noticed that when I watched two minutes of the live 1978 version just now (all I could take) at the top of the related videos list was: Heart — Barracuda.
Coincidence?

Didn’t Palin used to be Josef Stalin’s press secretary? Sort of sounds like it, you know, the press should be an arm of the party, and all that.

Instadipshit: “It feels kind of like when you wake up in the morning and your mind is kind of blank, but in a peaceful sort of way. ”
Now, really, what sane person ever gets that feeling?

Negative speech from the Left is the Mein Kampf of Liberal Fascism.
Negative speech from the Right is the Anne Frank diary of Liberal Fascism.
This, of course, makes Sarah Palin Gubernatrix the Anne Frank of Liberal Fascism.

And Kate Couric is the Leni Riefenstahl of Liberal Fascism.
(Not to be confused with Michael Moore, who is Leni Riefenstahl plus fat.)

(I thought I’d do my own Drudge Report-like “breaking news” story).
News Flash: Sarah Palin got an abortion years ago.
Remember, Sarah Palin continues to refuse to release her medical records. Why?
McCain, Obama and Biden have released their medical records, to varying degrees, but Palin adamantly refuses to divulge anything about her medical history. Why?
I doubt that there would be anything shocking health-wise, so it must be something else she is seeking to hide, something from her past that would paint her as just another lying Republican hypocrite and undercut her religious fundamentalist base.
Maybe, that she got an abortion?
Just a guess.
But Palin is definitely hiding something from her medical past, and the only thing that makes any sense is that she probably got an abortion in the early 1980s, within ten years of Roe v. Wade, something that she doesn’t want anyone, especially her fanatical religious fundamentalist anti-abortion followers, finding out about.

If you don’t let Sarah Palin shoot you, you are violating her second amendment rights. Fascists.

The Media is the watchdog of democracy.
Sarah Palin is a public official and is therefore subject to the scrutiny of the people and the press.
The Media calling Palin out on negative campaigning is IDEAL free speech, not hate speech, or libel, or slander.
BTW, Obama is not a terrorist. That is an ignorant assumption to make by a normal citizen let alone a vice presidential candidate.

Sarah Palin for lifetime achievement only because I hope that such an award will mean never seeing, hearing from or reading anything from her ever again. I had sincerely trusted TPTB to never attempt to foist Spiro Agnew on the US voters a second time, sex change or no.
