You know, after thinking about it, y’know after I came down from my high on un-cut Colombian caliche blanco, I find that it is encouraging that the GOP is attempting to reach out to minorities, granted, it is a bit funny when a tyro first picks up the bag o’ pipes, or the accordion. What disturbs me is this focus on a specific minority. O’Sham, MGMT is great, nods to Bowie and the Kinks on that album.
Kleberdude, your music links are always interesting. Matt Mays nicely pulls off the “Tom Petty meets Neil Young and Crazy Horse” sound, but the songwriting does seem a little bland. Probably doesn’t help that I stopped listening to Petty in the mid-80s and stopped listening to Neil in the mid-90s.
I’ve been digging into obscuro 60s-70s folk, psych, and prog, and every now and then I find a forgotten gem like this haunting psych folk doom ballad from The Trees (in hq):
