So, for those keeping score at home, we need to tear up the Constitution, pare back our freedoms, keep the Pentagon budget humming along at a rate equalling the rest of the world combined, and stretch the Longest War Evar for another quarter century because of…scary people like this.
Who represent an existential threat to the West.
Fear him.

Actually, he is kinda scary, that is, if you think having someone openly mock the American Idol concept on an American Idol stage is scary.

Clearly ALL “American,Idle” contestants should be rounded up and imprisoned for life.
Just to be on the safe side.
Oh, yeah, “Dancing with the ‘tards” contestants too.
Put Simon Cowell in charge of the show trials. Auto de Fe to follow.

Since the Dem lynch mob, both at large and at The Poor Man, seems pitifully small, I’ll throw in some loose change from a dialog elsewhere. This is me responding to the idea that Glenn Beck represents, or wants to create, a 5th Great Awakening:
I believe the opposite is true. The 4th Awakening has recently peaked and is now ‘cashing in’ as brutally as possible in all senses of that expression, including the use of religion as a vector for transmission of political ideology.
Indeed, it has been very strange to see the religion of the Sermon on the Mount become primum mobile for laissez-faire Objectivism, which is just another slant on social Darwinism.
Of Beck’s Mad Hatter Tea party (Whitestock, as Jerry Rosenblum, Facebook’s 2010 winner of Most Jewish-American Name award, calls it), what some hope is a glorious sunrise is really a melancholy sunset.
That said, this doesn’t mean that the damage isn’t done, nor that the did all of it or even most of it by themselves. We of the secular Left voted into office a lame miracle pony, Obama, and are so throughly dejected by the results that a vicious vacuum yawns, into which feudalist fascism with a superficial theocratic veneer seems posed to fill.
But this seems typical for human cultures. We often must learn the very hard way, much as the Germans learned that socialist fascism driven by belief in divinely ordained destiny is a good way to make the whole world hate you and stomp your arrogant ass.
yee-ha, et cetera…
Yeah, ‘primum mobile’ doesn’t fit as used; I refit it to mean ‘vehicle of first choice’. Cuz Latin is for dead people.

e, I vainly hoped the secular left wouldn’t be up for mere ‘hope’ (insert famous song by Lennon here)

So far all I hear from the likes of MoveOn is ‘give us more, please, to fight the evil right winged flying monkeys’.
The right wing isn’t the problem now. The engine fire appears to be on the left one.

Well on the one hand, there really are right wing flying monkeys. But on the other, very few in the nominal leftish legacy party are willing to join the fight. And it’s like: ‘why should I care, if you guys don’t? Are you gonna support me if I run against the bluedog in the primary? — No? So… again, why should I care what happens to you?’
